As the hotel with a long tradition of being pro-ecological and enviroinmentally neutral,
Scandic Hotel in Wrocław should have it’s own, inspirational style, which includes the natural motives. The cross-section of the soil was my first and the most exciting idea. I was looking for the rock formations, stone cavities and soil erosion to find the compact vision of my hall design. Clay mixed with glazes can create the interesting rocky and dirt-imitating structures. Soaking glossy layers of glazes and glass-like substances leaking from between of the rough, textural surfaces, the granular mixture attached to the cobalt and iron salts wash are making the strong impression and drawing the attention of hotel’s guests. The hall will be the place worth coming back to, and hardly memorable. Both artistic and designer, it can be appreciated by most of the people just passing by through the corridor.
